Day 12: Hauraki Rail Trail to Te Aroha

March 9th 2014
Distance cycled: 65 km
Total distance to date: 675 km

Today I did the other 2 parts of the Hauraki rail trail. The part from Paeroa to Waihi is the most popular part, since it has the most stuff to see. I figured that even with having to backtrack to get to Te Aroha, I'd want to see the attractions on that stretch.

Paeroa is "world famous in New Zealand" for producing L&P, a national soft drink. Signs for L&P were everywhere. I'd never had one before so I had to try it. To me it tastes just like Sprite.

I ditched my panniers in a good hiding spot along the trail just outside Paeroa and rode the trail out to Waikino.
